Disco Time!

Yay! I finally had my first disco dance lesson today! I have been waiting to start taking dance lessons for ages, and the day I have been waiting for has finally come! I can't wait to take even more lessons. Today at disco, we didn't have Ms. Claire teach us, sadly. Instead, we had somebody else called Ms. Tiffany. She is really nice as well! I hope Ms. Claire will teach sometime though... she was the best dance teacher I've ever had! Ms. Tiffany choreographed a dance for the Charity Bazaar that will happen sometime in October... we only have about a month left to prepare a dance for the bazaar!! Our new dance for the Charity Bazaar is called 'The Boy Does Nothing' by Alesha Dixon, a popular U.K. singer.

Before disco, I had another clarinet group lesson. We learnt new notes on the clarinet, so now the songs we are playing are starting to get more interesting and good since we aren't just playing songs with 3 or 4 notes.

At school today, 4 people in my class was sick!! Sydney, Seon Ha, Grant and Isabelle. And during the middle of the school day, another girl in my class called Melody had to go home because she had a fever, too! I hope everyone gets better soon :D

And a couple hours ago, someone called mommy telling her that school would be cancelled for a week because of H1N1 (swine flu)!!
I was half-expecting that already -- over about 100 people in Primary School got H1N1!
So now I'm making sure I wash my hands very often... making sure to be very hygienic. Hopefully school will start again in one week. Even just a week without school can be quite boring...

Sunday, August 30, 2009

It was really sunny today, so in the morning, I went swimming with Frances and Katy. When I went to the pool, Michelle and Rachel were there as well, so the 5 of us played together for a long time until we had to go home for lunch. It was really fun!!

After lunch, I had to continue finishing my Chinese homework... and now I still haven't finished it, but luckily I still have one more day to finish it until the due date.

When I finished most of my homework, I practiced my piano for quite a while, since I had to prepare for my piano exam that will be coming up in October.

After a long hour of piano, I practiced my clarinet for a bit, but my cheeks soon got tired from blowing for a long time.

And then, just when I thought I could call a friend to play with, I remembered I had to practice my violin. But there wasn't much for me to play, so I soon finished practicing violin.

Finally, I could call a friend to play. I called Rachel, and she came over to my house to play. Then Frances and Katy came over as well, and the 4 of us played together.... mostly on the computer of course!! :P . But Rachel couldn't stay for long, so after about 45 minutes or so, she had to leave. But Frances and Katy stayed, and on YouTube, we watched a movie that we really wanted to watch called The Wizards of Waverly Place movie... we still haven't gotten to finish it yet, because Frances and Katy had to leave as well for dinner, but we're nearly finished watching it, and it's really good and exciting! I'm probably not going to finish it tonight because it's already really late right now -- maybe tomorrow...

Well, gotta go get ready for tomorrow's school!

Violin Tutor

My old violin tutor Elodie was really great, but unfortunately, she had to move to Spain, so I couldn't take any more lessons with her :( . But mommy found another violin tutor for me, and I just had a lesson with him today. He's really nice! He wasn't strict at all, which I am very glad about.

After my violin class, mommy and I tried to catch a taxi into Wanchai (small town with little shops). But, there were literally no taxis at all to hail!! Lots and lots of taxis passed by, but all of them were occupied. We walked for about 45 minutes, still searching for taxis. In the end, we still didn't find a taxi. We just rode a tram to Wanchai instead.

It was really hot, so I was very glad to enter the bookstore, Cosmos, because Cosmos is very freezing cold inside! :D . But, I couldn't read any books in Cosmos because all the books were wrapped in plastic! That's the bad thing about bookstores in Hong Kong. Very little books are unwrapped so you can read them. I prefer the bookstores in America, because pretty much all the books aren't wrapped at all!

After Cosmos, I planned to go swimming, but I was just too tired. So I just stayed at home and watched a movie and finished some of my Chinese homework... I still have some homework that I need to finish tomorrow >:-(

A Busy Day

It was a really busy day for me today. After school, I had a clarinet lesson with Sydney, Alex, Sophia and other people. Right after clarinet, Sydney and I had to rush to violin lesson, since we both play the violin as well. And once violin class ended, it was already nearly 5:00 PM. Sydney's mom picked me and Sydney up, and Sophia came home with us as well!

When we all got home, we went swimming together. The pool is always very warm these days, which is great because sometimes when I go swimming, the pool is freezing cold and it's very hard for me to get used to it, so I end up doing very little swimming. But I had lots of fun with Sydney and Sophia today.

But, even though it's a Friday night, nobody was free to have dinner with me, so I just had sushi for dinner with mommy.

At school today, I found out a few interesting facts about the teachers in 5th grade. My teacher once has a 6-inch sliver through his leg!! Also, another teacher was once chased by the police when he was a teenager! There were many other facts as well about the 5th grade teachers.

I found out that on September 12th, I have to go to school for a Peer Helper training lesson. All the other Peer Helpers will have to go to school on the 12th as well!! I'm really excited :)

YAY!!!

Hooray!! I'm a Peer Helper at school now! I've decided to take the Peer Helper job, instead of waiting for Student Council, because I can do Student Council any time (Middle School, High School... I could even try running for President of the United States!! Ha!). I'm so excited to start working as a Peer Helper! But luckily I am a quick worker, because while I am doing tours to people, the rest of the people in my class will be working, so I will have to catch up with them after the tours and stuff; but I don't think I will have any trouble with that...

I just came back from night-swimming (again), but this time, it wasn't with friends :( . Mommy asked me to swim at least 30 laps, and finally, I finished all 30 laps!! Mommy says if I can swim up to 1,500 laps (not in just one day of course!) at least, she'll get me an LG Xenon phone, which is a type of phone I've been wanting for a looong time!

Well, I'm gonna go to bed now... wow!! The second week of school is already nearly gone!! Nighty night :D

Peer Helpers vs. Student Council

I've thought about doing Student Council, and mommy and Monica think I would do well being the school President in Student Council instead of Peer Helpers. I think being the school President would be really cool as well. But I also really want to be a Peer Helper because Peer Helpers get to do tours for new students and parents.

At school today, we got to vote for our Peer Helpers, but we won't know who the Peer Helpers will be until tomorrow. After the vote, lots of people told me that they voted for me. Around 9 people voted for me! But I also really want to run for School President. But there is a higher chance that I will become a Peer Helper and there isn't that big of a chance to become School President because a lot of other students will be running for President as well. But now I'm starting to think that being President will be more fun than being a Peer Helper because the School President gets to organize lots of activities going on in the school. But again, the chance is higher that I will be a Peer Helper. So which one should I choose?!?!?!? AHHHHH, I can't decide!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!

Anyways, after school and homework, at 6:00 PM I went to play tennis with Todd. Today I had a group lesson with Rachel and Nitya and other people, instead of having a private lesson. It was really fun but really hot! So after tennis, I went night-swimming with Sophia and a couple of her friends, Seanna and Catherine. That was really fun! But I had to go home quite early for dinner :(

URgh!! I still can't decide whether to be a Peer Helper or School President. I need to decide by tomorrow morning!! If I turn out to get the most votes for Peer Helper, I can still say, 'No, I want to run for Student Council instead," but I really don't know whether I could even win School President!!! Oh, this is a hard decision!!! :(((((

Peer Helpers

At school today, we learnt about a program at our school called Peer Helpers. Only 5th graders can become Peer Helpers. A Peer Helper is someone who does tours of the school for parents new students who are entering our school. A Peer Helper can also help monitor recess for the 3rd graders. So if an argument happens during recess, a Peer Helper will help out. I really want to be a Peer Helper, so I'm trying to convince everyone to vote for me for a Peer Helper! But, I also wanted to run for Student Council and unfortunately, nobody can be both a Peer Helper and be in Student Council. So I made my choice and after all, I want to be a Peer Helper instead!

When I finished my homework, I went out night-swimming with my friend Niki. We did obstacle courses and we did competitions and talked and played games. But we didn't get to spend much time with each other at the pool because Niki had to go back home to do some unfinished homework. So I just stayed behind and swam a few laps, and now I'm really exhausted! I'll definitely sleep well tonight...

Clarinet Practice

Today was the first clarinet practice. My friends Sophia, Alexandra and Sydney were all in my class as well! We learnt 3 songs, but to me, they are quite easy!! :P
Clarinet is much easier than I thought it would be, except that sometimes my mouth gets a bit tired and then it gets hard to blow to make noise. To me, piano is the easiest to make noise, because all you have to do is press a key! Violin is a bit harder because you have to pull and push the bow back and forth to make a sound. So clarinet is the hardest to make a sound, because you have to blow really hard into the clarinet to make a sound. But overall, clarinet isn't too difficult.

I really wanted to take my new iPod Touch to school today because I wanted to show it to my friends at school. But unfortunately, I couldn't take it because it could get lost or it could break. Now that I have one of the most coolest electronic in the world, I'm crazy about it! During every meal, I always take it with me and play with it while I eat, and always while I'm doing something, I try my best to play with my iPod at the same time!! It's just so cool, I can barely stay away from it!

Well, luckily my jet lag is gone now! But now that it's gone, waking up early is gone as well!! So now, instead of waking up at 4:00 A.M. before school starts and having loads of time to prepare, I wake up at 7:00 A.M. and I only have 10 minutes to prepare for everything! But at least I don't start getting tired at around 5:00 P.M., because I really don't like feeling tired at such early times!!

So tonight, I'm gonna go to bed really early so that I won't get up at 7:00 A.M.!! Hopefully I'll get up earlier! I miss those early mornings!!!

Brunch

Today I went over to a place with mommy and daddy for a brunch. We went there because mommy's friend moved there, so we went to have brunch with her.

Mommy's friend has 2 sons called Cheng Wok and Christopher. I showed them my new iTouch and we played some games on it -- this morning I downloaded loads of applications!! They are sooo cool :)

We also went to see their apartment. It's quite big! It looks just like my friend Gina's apartment. Gina used to live there, too.

Once we got back home, I started working on my homework that is due tomorrow at school. It was very fun -- I had to do a collage for my writing journal, so in my collage, I put photos of me and my friends and pictures of my dog, Samantha. Now my writing journal looks great!!

When I finished my homework, I called Sophia, asking if she could go night swimming with me, since it was already quite late. But, nobody answered the phone!! So I called Frances and Katy, but they couldn't go because they already went swimming. I called a few other friends, but they were either busy with homework or they just couldn't go. So I ended up not going swimming at all today :(

Gotta get ready for tomorrow's school now!

The party just ended, and I just finished opening all 10 presents. Here are the presents I got today:

I love all the presents!! I'm definitely going to use them a lot!!! Thanks you guys so much for the presents!!

G'night!! Gotta go to bed now... it's so late! Hmmm, I might use that H&M gift card that Sophia gave me...

August 21st... MY BIRTHDAY!!!

The day I have always been waiting for has finally arrived... my birthday!!! I'm finally 10 now!

At school, everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' to me and then mommy and daddy brought in chocolate muffins... they were really good :) Everyone in my class loved them!

After the great day of school, I went to buy lots of candy with mommy at the supermarket for tomorrow's birthday party. That was the first time I bought so much candy!

Since it was really hot today, I went swimming in the pool with Frances and Katy. It was sooo refreshing!! We played games and talked for a long time until our fingers and toes got all wrinkly and stuff. Then we got out and they went to a tennis lesson.

When Frances and Katy got back from tennis and had dinner, they both came over to my house to open my presents from mommy and daddy. Before, I was soooo super duper excited, and I really thought I couldn't wait to open up the mysterious present, but I managed to wait :)
And guess what I got... the newest version of the iPod Touch!!! It's a touch screen and it's really cool; I love it!! I also got really comfortable headphones for the iTouch and they are really good for the plain because it has lots of cushioning.

When I opened the fantastic, super, great present, I went over to Frances and Katy's house for a sleep over! We played lots of computer, and planned my birthday party!

I can't wait for my birthday party!!!

Party Favors

I just came back from shopping in a stationary shop called Cosmos with mommy. We had to buy party favors for my birthday party that is this Saturday. I would love to write what party favors I bought, but some of my friends who are invited to my party may be reading this, and I don't want them to know what the party favors are!! So sorry :(
We also bought stuff for a game we will be playing called Pass the Parcel. We bought little prizes, but again, I can't list the prizes we bought.

Earlier this morning, before I went to the bus stop to go to school, I stopped by at one of my friends' house called Michelle and gave her an invitation to my birthday party. But I'm still not sure yet if she can come... hopefully she can!!

School was just normal, nothing special happened today... but tomorrow I might bring in chocolate chip cookies for the class to celebrate my birthday!! Can't wait for that!

Oh wow! I'm gonna be 10 so soon! Cool -- YAY

Second Day of School

It was the 2nd day of school today. Before school started, I was buzzing with excitement, really looking forward to another day in 5th grade. Today was just as fun as yesterday.

At math, we started working in our journals, unit number 1. Unit 1 is about prime numbers and factors and other stuff like that. Although I'm finding it a bit hard, I'm quite liking it! We also worked on the math we started yesterday, but I didn't get enough time to finish it, so I had to bring it back home to finish it for homework.

At writing, we started a sheet of paper called First Day Thoughts. I wrote exactly what I wrote in my blog, because in my blog, I wrote a lot about my thoughts for the first day of school. And, I didn't get to finish that either because I had to check if everybody in class had their homework from last night with them, and that took a long time to finish, so I only had about a minute to do my First Day Thoughts paper!! So, that was more homework to do. A lot of other people didn't get to finish their First Day Thoughts as well.

So, today I ended up having lots of homework, but it was all fun homework!! See you tomorrow 5th grade :)

First Day of School

Before school started...
I'm so nervous!! Did I do my homework correctly? Was I supposed to color and decorate my homework? What if my teacher doesn't think my homework is neat enough? I don't want to get into trouble on the first day of school!! Is my teacher nice? Will I enjoy my 5th grade year? Who will be in my new class?? Is there anybody I know who is in my class??? Oh, I'm sooooo nervous!! I don't wanna go to school now!!!!

After school...
The first day school today was awesome!!!!!! My 5th grade teacher is soooo, extremely nice! And one of my best friends Alex (Alexandra) is in my class!! So are my friends Seon Ha, Sydney and Isabelle. There are also a lot of new kids in our class and I made friends with all of them.

I was worrying last night about my homework because I had colored and decorated it but I wasn't sure if my teacher would approve of it. But turns out, when I got to school, almost everybody decorated their homework!!

At school today, we worked on a Time Capsule. We filled out a form asking us questions like, What is your favorite color? What is your favorite food? Etc... And then we decorated envelopes and put the forms in the envelopes. Tomorrow we are going to hide the envelopes and leave it there until the last day of school so we can see what we wrote in a year's time!!

My teacher also started a new read aloud book called, The Kingdom Keepers: Disney After Dark. It's really good so far. It's about a few boys who are teenagers, and they get jobs at Disneyland in California. But they don't have normal jobs... they are virtual tour guides! And their virtual self's find themselves at Disneyland after dark.

I can't wait for tomorrow for another day of school and I'm really looking forward to sharing my 5th grade class for a whole year!!!!

Orientation

Today I had orientation, which isn't exactly school. In orientation, we meet our homeroom teacher and other teachers as well. My new 5th grade teacher is really nice! My classroom is very big; much bigger than my 3rd and 4th grade classrooms. In my classroom, there are rows and rows of computers. In 3rd and 4th grade, we have to share a whole computer lab with the other grades. But now, we get our own Dell computers! Too bad it isn't an Apple computer :) . There is also a thing called a SmartBoard in my new classroom. The SmartBoard is there instead of a whiteboard. A SmartBoard is kind of like a electronic whiteboard. It's very cool!

After meeting my homeroom teacher, I went to see my chinese teacher. My new chinese teacher is very nice as well! He's also quite funny.

When orientation was over, mommy, daddy and I went to the small marketplace called Stanley Market. At Stanley Market, there is almost everything there, so since I needed a new backpack for school, we went to Stanley Market to get one for me. My new backpack is dark purple and black. I needed a new backpack because all the backpacks I've had before were extremely small so I would always have to fold my homework and then it would be all crumpled up. My new backpack is very deep and wide, and it has cushioning everywhere. I tried fitting a piece of my homework inside the backpack, and I didn't need to crumple it at all!

While eating lunch in Stanley Market in a restaurant called Bay Side, I met my friend Sophia and her younger brother, Rogan. They were shopping for new shoes. Sophia and I were planning to go swimming since it was so hot, but once we got back home, it started raining and it was a thunderstorm warning!! That's too bad because if I had gone swimming, I wouldn't be so tired right now... and it's only 5:30 P.M.!! If I sleep now, I'll wake up at around 2:00 A.M. and my jet lag would just get worse! Ugh, I don't like jet lag :(

Swimming

I finally got to swim in the pool I always love to go to! I went there with my friends, Frances and Katy. We didn't do much swimming, because it was much too hot to actually swim and exercise... I'm sure if I swam a couple laps, I would have started sweating in the pool immediately because of the hot sun!! So we just sat by the pool, planning my birthday party that will happen on August 22nd... I can't wait!!!!

And mommy said I can have a sleep over with Frances and Katy on August 21st, the day of my real birthday, and one day before the party, so they can help me prepare everything!

After swimming, I rushed to take a warm shower, since I was suddenly cold again after walking in the air-conditioned, freezing cold lobby. Almost as soon as I got out of the shower, Frances and Katy had come over. We spent all our time on the computer, making my birthday invitations even better, and planning out what we would do on the day of the party. OOoooooohhh!! I really, really can't wait!

I'm at Hong Kong!!!

Yay!! I just arrived at Hong Kong and now I'm back at home... Home Sweet Home :)
I slept for about 12 hours on the 16 hour flight, so now I'm not so tired anymore... oh no! I guess that means I will have to deal with jet lag again :(

I only had a small salmon on the plane, since I wasn't very hungry, and I was more in the mood to have breakfast instead.... so I just had a big bowl of instant noodles.

When I first walked out of the cool, air-conditioned airport, I wasn't at all used to the hot, humid weather that Hong Kong has and I was more used to the cool weather in Boston. So when I got out of the airport, I got a woosh of the hot, humid Hong Kong. I tore off my sweatshirt immediately. And now it's only nighttime!! The night is usually much colder than the day time. So I'm probably gonna go swimming with my other friends tomorrow afternoon.

Although I'm still jet lag, I'm gonna at least try to go to bed now... I hope I can fall asleep so that the jet lag won't be so bad!!!

Waiting in JFK, New York

I've just gotten off the plane from Boston and now I'm at the airport, JFK, in New York. Unfortunately, there is no direct flight from Boston to Hong Kong, so we have to fly to New York first, then we take a plane from New York to go back to Hong Kong.

We're all waiting in the lounge, which is really nice because there are rows and rows of computers so I can play on them!! :) There's also cookies, sandwiches, and lots of other food. And one floor underneath the lounge is a small mall with lots of stores!! I'm probably gonna go there later.

I really can't wait to see my friends again and to go back to school, and... my birthday is coming up! I did a pool party last year because the weather was just right... very, very sunny. This year I don't want to do another pool party, even though this summer in Hong Kong seems to have really nice weather. Any ideas about what I should do for this year's party??

Urgh, I keep thinking I've forgotten to pack something! I really hope I didn't forget anything!!!

Oh! Someone just announced that my flight is started to board now... bye for now!

Hong Kong, HERE I COME!!! ;P

Tic-Tac-Scare Prank

Papa Razzi and Aliens in the Attic

Noooo!! It's my last day in Boston!!! I'm really gonna miss America, but I'm also really excited about going back to school and seeing all my friends and my dog, Samantha. I've brought lots of stuff from Hong Kong over to Boston, but here in Boston, I had lots of shopping trips! So I spent most of my afternoon packing and I just finished struggling with closing my luggage because it's so full of stuff!

For dinner tonight, I went to eat at a really fancy restaurant called Papa Razzi. It's an Italian restaurant, so of course I had pizza!

Earlier today, Wesley and I went to the cinemas to watch the movie Aliens in the Attic. It's really funny!!

I finished reading the book The Clique, and now I've moved onto the sequel, Best Friends For Never. There are so many books I've started but haven't finished yet, and there are still so many books I want to start reading, but I haven't started them yet because of all the books I'm reading at the same time right now!! And whenever I go to a bookstore, I see a new book and I really like it, and turns out, I usually just pick the books that is a series! So then I have even more books to read!!

Good-bye America :'(((... Hello Hong Kong :)))))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Freedom Trail

Wesley and I went to a site called the Freedom Trail. The Freedom Trail is in the city of Boston, so we had to ride a train. Turns out, Wesley is afraid of trains!! He was nervous and scared the whole time while we were on the way to downtown... hehe! Wesley was more than happy to get out of the train when our stop finally came.

After eating lunch at a restaurant called Tia's Seafood, we went to look around at some sites in the Freedom Trail. The sites we went to were the Old State House (where the Declaration of Independence was read), the Faneuil Hall, the grave site of the people Samuel Adams, Paul Revere, and other famous American people. We also went to a big market called Quincy Market but we didn't buy anything.

Now I'm waiting for dinner...

╔═╦╗╔╦╗╔═╦═╦╦╦╦╗╔═╗ ║╚╣║║║╚╣╚╣╔╣╔╣║╚╣═╣ ╠╗║╚╝║║╠╗║╚╣║║║║║═╣ ╠═╩══╩═╩═╩═╩╝╚╩═╩═╝ just doing this for fun O.o!

Early Birthday and Wellesley (again)

Today was any early birthday for me! My birthday is actually on August 21st, but I will be in Hong Kong on August 21st, so I just celebrated an early birthday here in America before I go back. Mommy, daddy, Wesley, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Jon, Granddaddy and I all had dinner at the restaurant called Bertucci's. Wesley and I had a big, yummy, 5-layer, rich chocolate cake! Yum!! Wesley, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jon bought me a present -- Demi Lovato's new album called Here We Go Again!! I'm listening to the songs on the album right now, in the kitchen :)

Earlier today, mommy, daddy and I went to Wellesley again and went to the shop called Capezio, a shop for dance supplies. I do tap, ballet, and disco, and I needed new stuff for all three of them. I bought long, black pants for tap, white tights for ballet, and lose, black capri pants for disco. I also got these things that I had never heard of before: Foot Undeez. They are actually shaped like little underwear and they go on your toes! Ha!

When we came back from Capezio, Wesley had come over. We played tag inside and outside the house. Then, we went to a big public golf course. Wesley and I took a lesson from a wonderful coach named Don. He used to teach Monica, my 26 year old sister, about 15 years ago!! I learnt how to swing and I hit quite a few high balls :) . But unfortunately, I got a blister on my right pointer finger :( . But I had loads of fun playing golf today!!!

OK, I'm gonna go to bed now! Can't wait to listen to more songs on Demi's new album!!

Wedgewood

I just finished swimming in the freezing cold pool at Wedgewood with Wesley, Uncle Jon, and Aunt Cindy. When I got out of the pool, I was extremely cold, and when I entered the house the air-conditioning was on and now I'm practically numb. At Wedgewood, I also played some tennis with mommy, daddy, Wesley, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jon. But I soon got tired and just stopped playing and started reading my new book, The Clique... it's really good so far!! Well, I guess jumping into the almost-frozen pool was a bit refreshing... just a bit.

Once my goosebumps disappeared, I rode back home with Aunt Cindy, Uncle Jon, and Wesley.

We're now all waiting for dinner... we ordered take out from a restaurant called Mark's. I'm so hungry!! Can't wait to eat dinner :)

I'm off to take a nice, warm shower now!

Atrium Mall

I just came back from another mall called Atrium Mall. But this time I didn't do any shopping-- Atrium Mall has a really good bookstore called Borders Bookstore. It's very big and there are chairs and sofas all around the bookstore, which is great because I can just pick a book and sit down somewhere and read! I found a series of books called The Clique. I started reading a couple chapters and really enjoyed it, so I bought the first two books in the series. They are called The Clique, and Best Friends For Never.

Since today is extremely hot and humid, mommy, daddy, Wesley, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Jon and I will be going to a club called Wedgewood. At Wedgewood, you can swim, dive, play tennis, play basketball, play four-square, have barbecues, and many others. When I go to Wedgewood, I usually just play tennis with Wesley and then go swimming with him.

Since I got a new watch, whenever I want to check the time, I'm always like, "Huh? This isn't my watch... my watch is blue not pink!" And then I start remembering about yesterday... I hope I get used to this new watch soon!!

Gotta go get ready for Wedgewood now XD

Shopping in Natick Collection (finally!)

Finally, the day I have been waiting for has finally come! I got to spend my whole afternoon at the mall, Natick Collection. I have been to Natick Collection many times, but every time I go there, I never have much time. But finally, I got 3 whole hours in the mall!

But first, Granddaddy wanted to show mommy, daddy and I a store called Home Depot. Home Depot is a place with lots of supplies for if you are either renovating your house or moving into a new house. We spent lots of time in Home Depot, since it is a humongous store. About 1 hour gone from shopping.

Once we were out of Home Depot, Granddaddy took us to a shoe store that he goes to. Daddy and Granddaddy both got a pair of shoes each, but since there were no shoes for kids, I didn't shop for my own shoes. We spent some time in the shoe store as well. About 40 minutes gone from shopping.

Finally, the moment I had been waiting for had arrived... Granddaddy and daddy dropped mommy and I off in front of Natick Collection, and the two of them drove back home. But first, although I wanted to start shopping immediately, I had to eat. I was starving. So mommy got a cheeseburger at McDonald's for me.

When I finished the delicious cheeseburger, we went over to the store Claire's again, since Claire's was right now to McDonald's. I'm going to get my ears pierced for my 10th birthday, so at Claire's, I bought several nice earrings. The reason why I bought earrings before I got my ears pierced is because in Claire's, the earrings are very good. And in Hong Kong, there is no shop called Claire's. So I bought some things at Claire's today:

~Circle-shaped black and red checkered earrings

~Circle-shaped earrings with a hot pink background with a black star on top

~Circle-shaped earrings with a blue background with white small polka-dots on top

~Circle-shaped earrings with rainbow colored stripes

~Circle-shaped black and white checkered earrings

~Circle-shaped earrings that are purple colored

~Panda earrings -- their [4] paws are silver

~Pink stud earrings

~Peace sign earrings that are pink and white

~Dangling earrings that is a monkey holding a peace symbol in one hand, and forming the peace

sign in another hand

~Lip Smackers lip gloss that is Skittle flavored

~A black hairband

~A bracelet with a black string holding a silver peace sign

That's all the things I got from Claire's today!! Now my legs are so sore because I walked around the around the Claire's store at least 30 times!! And the store is huge!

After spending lots of time in Claire's, mommy and I went over to a store that sells watches called Time Square. I had a very, very old Baby-G digital watch, and the color was fading as well. So I got a new Baby-G watch at Time Square. The watch is light pink and it is a kinetic watch and a digital watch! It's a very cool watch :)

Then we had to go meet daddy because he was picking us up from the mall so he could drive us back home. We met him at the store Nordstrom, because Nordstrom is the first store you see when you enter the mall. I saw a pair of shoes in Nordstrom that I really liked, but unfortunately, the store just doesn't have my size! Apparently, my foot is toooo long!

I just set the table for tonight's dinner. Granddaddy just taught me how to set a table. I didn't exactly know how to set a table properly, because back in Hong Kong, we are very casual and we don't really set the table. But now I can set the table! I also learnt how to set the utensils on the table. Granddaddy told me that the knife's blade has to be facing inwards, never outwards. I never knew that!

Gotta go eat dinner now!

Barbecue and Wellesley

I just came back from a wonderful barbecue with Wesley, Aunt Cindy and Uncle Jon. Wesley really is a great cook! He cooked all our hamburgers and hot dogs for us! But unfortunately I couldn't have a hot dog because their golden retriever, Amber, stole my hot dog off the grill, ha ha! Luckily I got to try a hamburger!

Before the barbecue at Aunt Cindy's house, mommy, daddy and I went to the small town called Wellesley. We
ate a late lunch at a small Vietnamese cafe. After the great lunch, we went to a sports store called Marathon Sports that was right next to the Vietnamese cafe. I needed new running shoes for school because my old running shoes are worn out and are starting to rip. So I got new, comfortable running shoes at Marathon Sports. The people who work at Marathon Sports are very nice, and they help you pick out sneakers that would best suit the way you walk. They are really good, because the sneakers they picked for me are perfect! But in Hong Kong, in all the sports stores with running shoes, the people who work there don't really help you or anything. Mommy also bought running shoes.

After buying two pairs of running shoes, we went to Roche Brothers, the supermarket, to buy some food. At the pharmacy store that was right next to Roche Brothers, mommy allowed me to get artificial nails for me! They are pink and black =)

So now I'm gonna go to bed now... hopefully tomorrow we can go shopping... again! But I don't want to spend my afternoon in a mall if it's a sunny day. Depends on the weather tomorrow, I guess!!

5th Grade Teacher and Grandmother's Interment

The weather was really nice today... not too hot, not too cold. I woke up, finding mommy and daddy out on the patio, having breakfast. Daddy gave me good news. I really wanted to find out who my new 5th grade teacher would be in the past 2 weeks. I was always checking my email every 5 minutes, seeing if I got mail about who my teacher would be. Finally, this morning daddy told me!! Yay =)

After I found out about who my new teacher is, we all went to Grandmommy's interment. She had just passed away on March 21st. Mommy, daddy, Granddaddy, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Jon, Wesley (cousin), and I all held hands in a circle and talked to Grandmommy. We said we would miss her and that she was a great mom/grandmother.

Then Wesley and I walked around the grave site and looked at other tombstones. I even saw that somebody died at age 11!

We're going to go to Cindy's house for dinner tonight... another barbecue. We've had so many barbecues this summer!! I bet when I go back to Hong Kong, I won't really want any more hamburgers or hot dogs for a while!

Julie & Julia

Today I went to watch the movie Julie and Julia. I wasn't expecting much from it, since it was mainly about cooking. So I wasn't as excited as when I'm about to watch 'Ice Age 3' or 'Up'. But when I stepped out of the theater, I felt exactly how I would usually feel when I step out of the theater after watching 'Ice Age 3'! The movie was great; very funny and the story was very cool, being based on 2 real life stories. It was about a girl called Julie Powell who loved cooking, and loved the famous chef, Julia Child. She started a project that was 365 days, 524 recipes. Julie Powell blogged about cooking and going through one of Julia Child's recipes. Soon, lots of people started following her and she soon became very famous and wrote a book.

After watching the movie, I went to the mall, Natick Collection
, since the theater was really close to Natick Collection. But I didn't have much time to look around because I had to go home soon for dinner. So I just went to the shop Claire's and bought a cute choker necklace (with different colored small beads). I'm probably gonna go back there again because I'm going to get my ears pierced for my 10th birthday, so I'm going to buy earrings at Claire's. It's very surprising, because usually, whenever I go to a mall, I always buy clothes or at least shoes. But this time I only bought a choker necklace!! But I bet I will always buy at least something when I enter a mall... it's just quite impossible for me to never buy something when I'm in a mall! Especially when I'm in Natick Collection!!!

So now I'm just sitting in front of the computer, with nothing to do... I'm really hungry but we're probably not going to have dinner until about 7:00 PM the earliest! Well, I gotta go now... gonna go eat a yogurt! The hunger in my stomach can't wait =)

Paul McCartney Concert

I was sitting on the train, with nothing to do, on the way to Fenway Park. I tried to entertain myself by looking out the window, but there was barely anything to see.

Finally, the train stopped and I heard the robotic voice in the train saying, "Fenway". I rushed out of the train, eager to get out. I went into the first restaurant, wanting to eat food immediately. But there were no seats left. I kept on walking, looking for restaurants. I passed by tons of bars, obviously not allowing children like me. As I continued walking by rows and rows of bars, I was nearly convinced that there were no restaurants. But then, I saw a place where kids were going inside, so I rushed up to the place and found myself standing inside Longhorn Steakhouse. I love steak. As I stuffed the steak in my mouth, I noticed how late it was getting. I quickly went out the restaurant. As I made my way to get tickets, I suddenly got distracted by an ice-cream shop. I bought a flavor called Purple Cow (raspberry ice-cream with bits of white and dark chocolate).

When I picked up the tickets, I made my way to the stadium, already starting to hear the warm-up band, MGMT. I passed by rows and rows of stretch limos. It was my first time seeing stretch limos, and they were really cool to look at. I drew my eyes away from the limos and kept on walking to the stadium. I finally got seated in my seat.

The concert was great! I loved watching Paul McCartney sing, and I hope to watch him sing more. Before the concert, I thought I wouldn't enjoy it much because I didn't know the Beatles very well, and when I listen to them sing, I can't stay entertained by just listening to them sing. But as soon as I get back to Hong Kong, where home is, I want to download all the Beatles songs and I'm sure that now I will love their songs!
