Chocolate Chip Cookies

When I woke up this morning, I suddenly felt like cooking something. Of course, I wanted to cook something sweet. A dessert. So I asked mommy if she could help me cook chocolate chip cookies.

We found a cookie mix with directions. Preheat the oven, combine the cookie mix together with 1 egg and half a stick of butter. It was all very simple, but we didn't start from scratch...

Before I knew it, I was already making balls out of cookie mix, egg and butter. Mommy did an example for me, and I followed, trying to make the balls the exact same size as mommy's ball. It was really hard for me to decide whether my balls were going to turn out too big, or too small.

Soon, I was carefully sliding the tray of 12 cookies into the preheated oven, careful not to burn myself. I eagerly watched the oven, watching the tiny bubbles appearing on the cookies, making the cookies get bigger and rounder and taller. Soon, the smell of cookies starting filling the whole apartment. I pulled the tray of cookies back out, the tray much more hotter. I sniffed the cookies; they smelt wonderful -- I couldn't wait to eat them!!

After I let the cookies sit for a while to let them get a bit harder, I gathered the cookies up and placed them on a plate, making a simple design. I tried my hardest to place the cookies very gently, but I ended up breaking a few cookies in half. Oh well, at least they all still taste the same -- sweet, warm, sweet, yummy, warm and yummy.

I immediately grabbed for the cookie on the top pile, excited to try the cookies I had made. Mmmm... they were delicious!!! I especially liked the warm, melted chocolate chips :)

After some violin practicing, I went to ballet class with Rachel. We just prepared for our ballet exams, although they aren't coming up until next year.

After a tiring ballet class, I went over to Rachel's house for dinner and we watched a movie that was playing on Nickelodeon called: 'Spectacular'. It was a musical and it was really fun to watch! The dinner was great too =)

Julie & Julia

Today I went to watch the movie Julie and Julia. I wasn't expecting much from it, since it was mainly about cooking. So I wasn't as excited as when I'm about to watch 'Ice Age 3' or 'Up'. But when I stepped out of the theater, I felt exactly how I would usually feel when I step out of the theater after watching 'Ice Age 3'! The movie was great; very funny and the story was very cool, being based on 2 real life stories. It was about a girl called Julie Powell who loved cooking, and loved the famous chef, Julia Child. She started a project that was 365 days, 524 recipes. Julie Powell blogged about cooking and going through one of Julia Child's recipes. Soon, lots of people started following her and she soon became very famous and wrote a book.

After watching the movie, I went to the mall, Natick Collection
, since the theater was really close to Natick Collection. But I didn't have much time to look around because I had to go home soon for dinner. So I just went to the shop Claire's and bought a cute choker necklace (with different colored small beads). I'm probably gonna go back there again because I'm going to get my ears pierced for my 10th birthday, so I'm going to buy earrings at Claire's. It's very surprising, because usually, whenever I go to a mall, I always buy clothes or at least shoes. But this time I only bought a choker necklace!! But I bet I will always buy at least something when I enter a mall... it's just quite impossible for me to never buy something when I'm in a mall! Especially when I'm in Natick Collection!!!

So now I'm just sitting in front of the computer, with nothing to do... I'm really hungry but we're probably not going to have dinner until about 7:00 PM the earliest! Well, I gotta go now... gonna go eat a yogurt! The hunger in my stomach can't wait =)
