At school, it was green day, so we had to wear green. Also, at lunchtime, the cafeteria was selling candy canes!! I got three candy canes from unknown people...

After school, I had clarinet class. We went around the school, playing christmas carols for the office and other kids. It was fun.

After clarinet, Sydney and I went to violin. Once again, we just worked on scales... when will we be able to play real songs again?!

Tomorrow, two boys from class, Timmy and Darren, are coming over to my house to play tennis. Sydney will be playing with us as well. Timmy and Darren keep saying they'll definitely beat us, but I am sure gonna beat them!!!

After school today, there was a mixed rehearsal for clarinet today. The whole band came and we all played together. There were trombones, trumpets, flutes, french horns, and others that I can't name. I had to leave the rehearsal early because at 4:00 I had a piano lesson. So when the time came for me to leave, I quickly rushed out to the entrance and mommy took me directly to piano.

Turns out, we got to piano half an hour late, so there was only 30 more minutes left for the lesson. We only got to work on one piece.

After piano, I took Samantha out and played fetch with her again. But I threw the ball over the fence and lost the ball, so we only got to play for about half an hour.

For homework, I mostly did my writing homework. I've been working on a really long fantasy story called 'Once Upon a Golden Wheel' and I just finished it today!

After school today, Alex, Sydney, Sophia and I once again stayed in our class to do our homework and wait for clarinet class to start. We finished our homework really quickly and then started playing around like we did yesterday. It was really funny.

After clarinet class, Mr. Lovett gave Alex, another girl called Johena, and me a book full of songs for three people. He asked us to pick a song to play in the concert! Unfortunately, the song 'Jingle Bell Rock' has notes we haven't learnt yet, so we can't play that :( We haven't yet chosen what song we want to play yet though......

Sydney's mom couldn't pick her up from clarinet, so Sydney rode with Sophia and I back home. We used Sophia's helper's phone to do prank calls. It was so funny :D

When I got back home, I quickly did my homework and soon it was time for disco. Katy needed  to do something for school and had to miss disco class. So Rachel and I just went to disco alone. We continued to learn our dance to the song 'Poker Face'. I am now starting to get more familiar with the dance so it isn't too hard anymore! I really like the Poker Face dance.

After school, Sophia, Sydney, Alex and I all stayed in the classroom to wait for clarinet class and do our homework... well, we didn't actually have homework, so we pretty much just played around and had fun... the teacher was at a meeting so we could do whatever we wanted to do!! It was really fun :)

When it was time for clarinet, Mr. Lovett asked Alex, me and another girl to do a trio for the upcoming Christmas Concert. We haven't picked yet what song we are going to play, but it will definitely be a Christmas carol... I hope it's either 'Let It Snow' or 'Jingle Bell Rock'! Those are my favorites...

After clarinet, mommy picked me up and Sophia came to ride with us as well.

I got back home and waited for disco to come. Soon it was time, so I went down to pick up Rachel and we went to the dance studio together. It was freezing cold outside and I had forgotten to bring a jacket with me, so now I am sneezing every second and I'm bundled up with... lemme see.... 4 thick sweatshirts!! I'm still cold........

At disco, I learnt a new dance to the song 'Poker Face' by Lady Gaga. It's really fast and it was really, really hard for Rachel and I to keep up. But I still enjoyed it.

It was the first day back at school today, and I'm actually quite happy to be back because I was really bored during the holidays and now that I have school, I won't have nothing to do!

After school, Alex, Sydney, Sophia and I all stayed behind to wait for clarinet class. So we did all our homework in our classroom. Soon it was time for our clarinet class.

Once again, our original clarinet teacher, Mr. Lovett, was sick again today, so Mrs. Webster taught us instead... I haven't seen Mr. Lovett in ages!! At clarinet, we played some new Christmas carols for our Christmas concert next month.

When clarinet class was over, mommy took Sophia and me back home.

After the short taxi ride, I finally decided to stop disco dance class. I have really enjoyed doing disco, but the dances are way too easy for me and I am not old enough to be moved up to the higher level with more challenging dances. So I've stopped disco for now and I'm gonna start doing more tennis and maybe start after school basketball with Sydney.

So instead of going to disco, mommy and I walked down to the Wong Nai Chung tennis courts where kids who are really good at tennis (including Jonathan) play. But we got there too late because it was already the end of the group lesson and they were just playing games; so I couldn't really see how good they were...

At school today, we mostly just did stuff about camp... we wrote stories about memories at camp and we worked on newsletters all about camp.

Since we haven't had clarinet class in a long time because of camp, there was a make-up clarinet class after school today. Mommy also thought that there would be a violin make-up class, but turns out there wasn't any, so I brought my heavy violin to school for nothing....

When I finished practicing a bit of violin when I got back home from clarinet, I called Sydney to see if she was free to play basketball. Although she was only free for 20 minutes, we played anyways. We went down to the basketball courts and Sydney helped me improve my basketball because I am probably going to join after school basketball next semester.

After a little of basketball with Sydney, I had to go to tap class. Ms. Claire brought canes for us to work with in our dance. Towards the end of class, Frances and I accidentally broke one of the canes and it snapped in half... now I'm trying to find out how to fix it :O

Ughhh... My throat hurts... and I have a blocked nose :( I hope I'm not catching a cold here!!

After school, I had clarinet and violin class. My old violin teacher from 3rd grade came to teach us today... she's really nice!!

After violin, I went to ballet class. We worked on our dance to the song 'Whatever It Takes' for the Charity Bazaar.

When I came home from ballet, mommy and daddy had to go over to their friend's house for dinner. I decided not to go in case I spread my 'maybe-cold' onto their children. So now I'm stuck at home all alone, with nothing to do... >:((((

Know Your Clarinet

There is a new concert in Hong Kong called 'Know Your Clarinet'. Mommy took me to that concert, and it was actually really enjoyable to watch! There was a really good clarinetist who can play all different kinds of clarinets.

Since the shopping mall IFC (no, it's nothing like Natick Collection in Boston) is very close to where the concert was, mommy then took me to a store called Zara and I bought a couple of winter clothes for this year.

I also wanted to go to the bookstore Dymocks, but we had to go home for dinner; I guess I'll just have to wait for another time to go to Dymocks!!

After practicing some clarinet, I ordered pizza for dinner and watched some TV. So now I'm just gonna go read my 'Eclipse' book and get ready for tomorrow's school! =P

The Sunniest Day Yet

I don't remember Hong Kong getting this sunny before. Yesterday, I practically died out in the sun playing tennis!! It was so extremely hot! It felt so good to enter my air-conditioned room and take a freezing cold shower. After all that air con and cold showers, I became cold and I wanted to be hot again...

After my violin lesson, I had french fries from Mac-Donald's.

When I got back home, I called Rachel to see if she could play. We went swimming together and we made posters to advertise about the Charity Bazaar. Hopefully more people will come this year!!

After taking showers in the clubhouse, I had to go back home to practice my clarinet and piano. In the middle of clarinet, Rachel called to invite me to dinner, asking me to go to her house. So I didn't get a chance to start piano.

Rachel's two friends, Michelle and Kenny, came for dinner as well. We played on the computer, and Kenny brought his iPod Touch with him, so we played with that as well. Kenny really likes dogs, so Michelle, Kenny, Rachel and I went up to my house and looked at Samantha. We dressed her up with hair bands, necklaces, bracelets, sunglasses, and other stuff like that :)

Soon it got really late, so everyone had to go back home.

Typhoon

Yikes!! It's a Typhoon No. 8 outside right now!! I'm hoping that tomorrow I won't have any school because the Typhoon signal will be too high.

Since Monica is leaving to go to Princeton College tomorrow, mommy, daddy, Monica and I had dinner together at a restaurant. We came home quite late, but just in case that there will be school tomorrow, I finished all my homework anyways.

After school today, I had clarinet practice. We learned 2 new notes. The Typhoon was already quite high and it was really windy. There were barely any cabs outside so it took ages to find one.

When I finally got home, I was already quite late for disco class. I quickly rushed to disco. Good news at disco!! I don't have to do the Hoedown Throwdown anymore! Ms. Tiffany decided to do a dance to the song called 'Low' by Flo Rida. It's a really cool dance and I love it!! I can't wait for the Charity Bazaar when I get to perform the Low dance.

It seems so scary outside, like soon the trees will be pulled out of their roots and will be flying everywhere. I can hear screams outside my bedroom just like little kids screaming in the playground. I can hear the loud wind and I can hear the big drops of rain pattering on my windows. I really hope there won't be school tomorrow!!

Wait... how will I be able to sleep tonight?!?!

Disco Time!

Yay! I finally had my first disco dance lesson today! I have been waiting to start taking dance lessons for ages, and the day I have been waiting for has finally come! I can't wait to take even more lessons. Today at disco, we didn't have Ms. Claire teach us, sadly. Instead, we had somebody else called Ms. Tiffany. She is really nice as well! I hope Ms. Claire will teach sometime though... she was the best dance teacher I've ever had! Ms. Tiffany choreographed a dance for the Charity Bazaar that will happen sometime in October... we only have about a month left to prepare a dance for the bazaar!! Our new dance for the Charity Bazaar is called 'The Boy Does Nothing' by Alesha Dixon, a popular U.K. singer.

Before disco, I had another clarinet group lesson. We learnt new notes on the clarinet, so now the songs we are playing are starting to get more interesting and good since we aren't just playing songs with 3 or 4 notes.

At school today, 4 people in my class was sick!! Sydney, Seon Ha, Grant and Isabelle. And during the middle of the school day, another girl in my class called Melody had to go home because she had a fever, too! I hope everyone gets better soon :D

And a couple hours ago, someone called mommy telling her that school would be cancelled for a week because of H1N1 (swine flu)!!
I was half-expecting that already -- over about 100 people in Primary School got H1N1!
So now I'm making sure I wash my hands very often... making sure to be very hygienic. Hopefully school will start again in one week. Even just a week without school can be quite boring...

Sunday, August 30, 2009

It was really sunny today, so in the morning, I went swimming with Frances and Katy. When I went to the pool, Michelle and Rachel were there as well, so the 5 of us played together for a long time until we had to go home for lunch. It was really fun!!

After lunch, I had to continue finishing my Chinese homework... and now I still haven't finished it, but luckily I still have one more day to finish it until the due date.

When I finished most of my homework, I practiced my piano for quite a while, since I had to prepare for my piano exam that will be coming up in October.

After a long hour of piano, I practiced my clarinet for a bit, but my cheeks soon got tired from blowing for a long time.

And then, just when I thought I could call a friend to play with, I remembered I had to practice my violin. But there wasn't much for me to play, so I soon finished practicing violin.

Finally, I could call a friend to play. I called Rachel, and she came over to my house to play. Then Frances and Katy came over as well, and the 4 of us played together.... mostly on the computer of course!! :P . But Rachel couldn't stay for long, so after about 45 minutes or so, she had to leave. But Frances and Katy stayed, and on YouTube, we watched a movie that we really wanted to watch called The Wizards of Waverly Place movie... we still haven't gotten to finish it yet, because Frances and Katy had to leave as well for dinner, but we're nearly finished watching it, and it's really good and exciting! I'm probably not going to finish it tonight because it's already really late right now -- maybe tomorrow...

Well, gotta go get ready for tomorrow's school!

Clarinet Practice

Today was the first clarinet practice. My friends Sophia, Alexandra and Sydney were all in my class as well! We learnt 3 songs, but to me, they are quite easy!! :P
Clarinet is much easier than I thought it would be, except that sometimes my mouth gets a bit tired and then it gets hard to blow to make noise. To me, piano is the easiest to make noise, because all you have to do is press a key! Violin is a bit harder because you have to pull and push the bow back and forth to make a sound. So clarinet is the hardest to make a sound, because you have to blow really hard into the clarinet to make a sound. But overall, clarinet isn't too difficult.

I really wanted to take my new iPod Touch to school today because I wanted to show it to my friends at school. But unfortunately, I couldn't take it because it could get lost or it could break. Now that I have one of the most coolest electronic in the world, I'm crazy about it! During every meal, I always take it with me and play with it while I eat, and always while I'm doing something, I try my best to play with my iPod at the same time!! It's just so cool, I can barely stay away from it!

Well, luckily my jet lag is gone now! But now that it's gone, waking up early is gone as well!! So now, instead of waking up at 4:00 A.M. before school starts and having loads of time to prepare, I wake up at 7:00 A.M. and I only have 10 minutes to prepare for everything! But at least I don't start getting tired at around 5:00 P.M., because I really don't like feeling tired at such early times!!

So tonight, I'm gonna go to bed really early so that I won't get up at 7:00 A.M.!! Hopefully I'll get up earlier! I miss those early mornings!!!
