Colony Day and... PIANO EXAM

This morning it was my piano exam!!! I am now sooooo happy that the exam is finally over and I have so many more things to look forward to now!! There's a paint-ball party this weekend, then it's the Charity Bazaar, then 3 days of camp, then Halloween and Katy's birthday party! Can't wait for all of them :)

Although I was really, really nervous last night before the exam, this morning, just before the exam, I wasn't nervous at all -- I was just calm.

After my piano exam, I went to school a few hours late. Then it was Colony Day! My costume for a blacksmith turned out great and my tools were cool as well! Parents walked around the classroom, asking questions like 'Why did you leave Europe to go to the New World?' or 'What are your trade relationships with your fellow colonists?' or 'Now that you have settled in the New World, what do you have to do in order to survive?'

When school was over, I came home for tap. We learnt a new dance to the song 'Steppin' Out With My Baby' by Fred Astaire. We did the dance with canes and hats.

At school today, we mainly just worked on tomorrow's Colony Day... we barely had time for anything else!

After school, I had violin class and we worked on the song 'Hallelujah'.

When I came back home from violin, of course, I practiced piano for my exam which is now tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

For Colony Day tomorrow, I made some tools that blacksmiths used, like hammers or pitchforks.

When I finished all of my homework after school, Niki called and we played together. We walked around in the garden and talked. When Niki had to go for a tennis lesson, I went back home to practice my instruments.

Oh nooooo!! Just two more days until my piano exam!!! I just finished practicing piano for the exam, and I really hope I'll pass! Though I don't think I will pass the aural (singing) test and the sight-reading (playing a piece that you've never learnt on the spot) test...

Before the long practice of piano, I practiced some violin songs for this winter's strings concert.

The things I will be wearing for Colony Day will be:
~A long, black skirt that reaches just a bit underneath my knees. So since back then women usually had all parts of their body covered, I will also be wearing tights underneath the skirt.
~A white, long-sleeved shirt with a collar
~Dirty white flats
~Hair tied in a high bun
~A black apron (still trying to find one)

I hope I find the black apron by Thursday!!

Sorry I haven't been writing recently... I've been coming home quite late these past couple nights. So here's what I did on Saturday and Sunday night.

Saturday night was really fun. My friend Grayce had come over and we went swimming together. Then she stayed over to have dinner with mommy, daddy, Frances, Katy, Rachel and I for Mid-Autumn Festival. There were many fun activities for us to do. There was someone making little animals out of dough, and Grayce and I got little cute pandas. There was also someone making different bracelets, so Grayce and I got the same bracelet for a friendship bracelet.

Yesterday, mommy and daddy took me out to Pacific Place to watch the movie 'Fame'. It was all about singing, dancing, acting and instruments. It was a really fun movie to watch. After the movie, we went over to someone's house for dinner. We stayed there really late, so I had quite a lot of trouble waking up early for school this morning.

I've found some old clothes that I will be wearing for Colony Day this Thursday for Cultural Encounters. Though I am still trying to find a black apron... it will probably be quite difficult to get a black apron now...

Ahhhhh!! My piano exam is in just 3 days!!! I'm soooo nervous, but I'll be really happy when the exam is over because then I won't have anything to worry about!!

Oh right! I also forgot to mention that I started the 4th book in the Twilight saga called 'Breaking Dawn'. I finished 'Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn' is really good so far! :D
